Adrian Texas Midpoint Cafe Texas Route 66

The Midpoint Café is a café and gift shop is located on old Route 66 in Adrian, Texas. It's the oldest operating Route 66 café between Amarillo, Texas and Tucumcari, New Mexico.

You might assume that the mid-point of Route 66 would be buzzing with businesses and activity, but the reality is there are only two businesses. Thanks to the locals and tourism, the little cafe has been in operation for over 80 years.

A good portion of the visitors come from outside of the United States. "During the first 3 months of the 2015 season (April 1 through June 30th), we have had folks from 56 countries visit the Midpoint Cafe and Gift Shop." That's pretty amazing for a small restaurant in a town of with the population of 170 citizens.

Plan carefully if you want to visit! According to their website, they are open during the "tourist season" which is April through mid-November. They also close on occasion if a large group plans a visit.
