Old Phillips 66 Gas Station in Waco

old Phillips 66 gas service station in Waco Texas

This bright red and white building is a former Phillips 66 Service station on Waco and 26th St.

The prominent architectural feature of these gas stations was the upwardly projecting triangular canopy. Other features were the glass garage bay doors and full glass office enclosure.

This architectural style was used by Phillips 66 between 1950 and 1970.

The first Phillips 66 station in Texas was built in McLean, Texas. It still stands as a restored historic building and Route 66 attraction.
